The well-being and vacation enjoyment of our guests is the paramount priority. All of our brands remain active with high hygiene standards, and the additional preventative on-trip protocol implemented and will continue to follow advice from government advisories and remains in touch with all our on-the-ground suppliers.

TRAVEL VACCINATION POLICY

Effective immediately, all guest booked to travel are required to be fully vaccinated to travel.

The wellbeing of our guests is our top priority. As part of this commitment, all guests traveling through December 31, 2022 are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, which may include a booster shot to keep the vaccination status current and valid, depending on the travel destination. Children not eligible for vaccination and/or booster at the time of travel must provide a verifiable and negative Covid-19 test result, taken within 72 hours prior to the start of the tour (taking time zones into consideration) for all tours departing until December 31, 2022.

For guests traveling from 1 January 2023, Covid-19 vaccinations and boosters are highly recommended, but no longer required.

Please note that regardless of time of travel guests will need to comply with specific vaccine and/or booster requirements imposed by airlines and/or authorities in the destination visited, as well as requirements for accessing restaurants and venues, which may be more restrictive than above. It is guests’ responsibility to ensure that they comply at all times with these requirements. No refunds will be given if guests are unable to undertake some or all of their vacation due to their failure to comply with these requirements.

This policy is subject to change at any time, without notice.

YOU’RE FREE TO CHANGE OR POSTPONE YOUR VACATION
Last updated 19 August, 2022

It is hard to grasp how much our world has changed due to COVID-19 and the impact it has had on our everyday lives and our ability to travel. We appreciate your understanding as we navigate through these challenging times together.

 Suspended Tours

As we continue to live and operate alongside COVID-19, the virus continues to create a set of challenges that are unfortunately outside of our control. We continue to review the travel restrictions imposed by government advisories worldwide on a daily basis.

Should your tour be impacted and unable to operate, your booking agent will contact you directly approximately 45-60 days prior to your tour’s planned start date.

If your booked tour is suspended, please rest assured that you have a Future Travel Credit (FTC) automatically available to you for the full value of the land portion of your tour, to use for travel before 31 December 2022.

You are eligible to either:

• Rebook now, and change your travel dates or destination to any tour departing up until 31 December 2022 without penalty on the land portion of your tour. Any discounts (of up to 15%) that had been applied to your original booking will be transferred and applied to your new booking.*

OR

• Elect to hold a Future Travel Credit of the full amount paid for land portion of the suspended vacation, redeemable against any new booking for travel to any destination departing before December 31, 2022.**

Future Travel Credits can be redeemed with any TTC brand (Trafalgar, Costsaver, Brendan Vacations, Insight Vacations, Luxury Gold, Uniworld Boutique River Cruises or U by Uniworld River Cruises) on any destination or tour for travel before 31 December 2022. To give you maximum flexibility, you can also choose to transfer your Future Travel Credit to a friend or family member.

All Future Travel Credits will be valid for 24 months from date of issue.

With the ongoing changes in travel due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) and the rapidness at which things are changing around us, we are continually adapting to serve the needs of our customers. Some countries in Africa have restricted foreign visitors, or now require additional screening/testing and quarantine periods or proof of vaccination as well as testing. The USA has also introduced testing requirements for travelers returning from international trips – Lion World Travel can assist with facilitating the testing within the destination. Additionally, airlines have reduced their number of departures.

Lion World Travel is monitoring news and guidelines coming from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and governmental departments in North America and Africa to ensure the safety of all of our guests.

Know that Lion World Travel is in constant contact with our suppliers throughout Africa. For concerned travelers, we are happy to say that for the majority of bookings, you now have the option to postpone travel to as late as December 9, 2022*. There are some exceptions, so please call us at 1-888-292-4885 to confirm what travel options you have if you want to change, postpone, or transfer your impacted trip with Lion World Travel.
Future Travel Credits: Should you be uncertain about new travel dates or other changes to your booked vacation, we will gladly issue a travel credit for any future travel with Lion World Travel in 2022. Credit for issued airline tickets as well as all booked accommodations would remain with the same suppliers. Our Africa Specialists will be able to give you information specific to your booking. In some cases partial credits can be moved to other TTC brands.

We have departures on all of our Exclusive Vacation Packages for 2022, giving travelers more options to choose their new departure dates from. For the vast majority of 2021 re-bookings, we are able to get travelers on the exact same safari, without a price increase for travel within the same season. Price increases and fees can be expected for other safaris in 2022 and 2023.

In addition to the information on this page, we encourage you to read "Your Well-being, Our Top Priority", which outlines some of the health, safety and well-being initiatives we have in place to safeguard all of our Lion World Travel guests. We want everyone who books with us to enjoy their dream trip to Africa! If you have any questions at all, and wish to postpone your safari, our Africa Specialists are here to answer your call.
